Mariposa Plum is a popular variety of plum which has been available in Australia for many years. PlantNet® now makes it available as a DWARF variety of Plum.

Exclusive to PlantNet® it is a round medium chill plum that is a heavy cropping variety which bears medium to large fruit in mid January. A sweet, blood red fleshed, freestone plum with unique dark red, speckled skin.

This is a prolific bearing variety that will require staking. This variety will require pollinating from Laroda, Santa Rosa, or Satsuma Plums.

Ideal for eating fresh, stewing, preserving or making jam. A low maintenance tree for confined spaces because of its dwarfing tree size. 

Uses

• Ideal for growing in pots or tubs on the patio or great for small sized gardens.
• Ideal for teaching kids how to look after their own fruit tree.

Prepare the soil well before planting by adding compost or composted manures.
Test soil pH.
Ensure soil is wet before planting, remove plant from pot.
Do not apply fertiliser to the hole at time of planting.
Water in after planting.
When planting in large pots use a premium potting mix with added slow release fertiliser.
