Stella is a variety of Cherry that has been around for many years. PlantNet® now makes it available as a dwarf variety of Cherry. Stella produces large, heart shaped, plump fruit with bold red, crisp, juicy cherries.

It is a self-fruitful variety, which produces prolific crops and resists cracking. Fruit is harvested from mid-December to January. This variety is very popular for home garden use.

Fruit is used for fresh fruit, jams, preserves and cooking.

Uses

Fruit production, espalier, pots, feature tree or specimen shrub.

Prepare the soil well before planting by adding compost or composted manures.
Test soil pH.
Ensure soil is wet before planting, remove plant from pot.
Do not apply fertiliser to the hole at time of planting.
Water in after planting.
When planting in large pots use a premium potting mix with added slow release fertiliser.
