Storey is a variety of apricot which has been available in Australia for many years. PlantNet® now makes it available as a DWARF variety of apricot.
Exclusive to PlantNet® it is a sweet, juicy apricot producing medium size rounded fruit with orange skin which has a deep blush and matures around late January which makes it a mid season variety.
This is a versatile variety which can be used for stewing, making jams or eaten fresh. This variety is self fruitful and is a prolific bearer which means It will require staking. A low maintenance tree for confined spaces because of its dwarfing tree size.
Uses
- Ideal for growing in pots or tubs on the patio or great for small sized gardens.
- Ideal for teaching kids how to look after their own fruit tree.
Prepare the soil well before planting by adding compost or composted manures.
Test soil pH.
Ensure soil is wet before planting, remove plant from pot.
Do not apply fertiliser to the hole at time of planting.
Water in after planting.
When planting in large pots use a premium potting mix with added slow release fertiliser.
